The Isle of Wight Council provides your household with recycling and waste services. We collect, treat and dispose of waste and recycling. We also provide recycling centres you can take your household waste to.

We would like your view on the waste and recycling services we currently provide for you.

Your Kerbside Recycling Service
We collect all of your recycling every fortnight. This includes:

  • green bin/ green reusable sack/ communal mixed recycling bin for metals, plastics and glass;
  • black box/ blue reusable sack/ communal paper card bin for paper, magazines, card and corrugated cardboard; 
  • in a bag of your choice (not black) for textiles.


Extra recycling gets collected, even if your recycling containers are full. Extra recycling must be presented in clear or white sacks.
